WIN: Eleanor J’adore 35th Birthday Giveaway with ORS Curls Unleashed

Alright alright everyone, I know you didn’t see this one coming – a second competition on the same day. But let’s just all keep calm and keep on entering. Why? Because right now I’m bringing you the chance to win one of those product ranges that us curly girls have literally been lusting after for years. Well, at least I did. I remember how I used to read review after review about ORS Curls Unleashed and thinking to myself that we’d probably never be in a position in South Africa where we could just pick and choose which natural hair product we want to select off the shelf. And now just look at us: taking long walks down the product isle and unleashing and flipping our curls to every passer-by who dares to look in our direction.  I for one am loving it.

I’ve had the opportunity to try just about every product in the Curls Unleashed range, but right now I’m going to give you the low-down on three of my favourites. Oh yes, just look at all their foodie names and tell me you’re not tempted to eat them.

Sage & Kiwi Intense Hair Conditioner

This is the first deep conditioner that I’m giving away this week and that makes me so happy because I absolutely love it. It’s super thick and when I applied it for the very first time it almost felt like it was just going to sit on my strands but once I started working it in, I could feel it really penetrating my curls. I would then leave it on my hair while I got on with the rest of my shower routine and would let the steam from the shower help it to intensely moisturise my hair. Thereafter I’d detangle my hair really easily as I find it contains loads of slip, ideal for all this hair.

Shea Butter & Mango Leave-In Conditioner

If I’ve told you all once, I’ve told you all a million times, “I do not style my hair without using a leave-in first.” And I suggest the same for you. The reason is really simple. It smooths your hair’s cuticle, making it easier and softer to work with and adds an abundance of moisture,  forming the base for you to style your hair.

What surprised me about this leave-in is that it’s super light, so light in fact that I didn’t think that it would do my hair any good, but boy was I wrong. I find it extremely moisturising and although I can’t say it actually smells like shea butter or mango to me, the smell is quite pleasant and sweet without being overpowering.

Aloe Vera & Honey Curl Boosting Jelly

In the past I never really used to use gels as my thinking was that if my hair is well moisturised and healthy I wouldn’t need the help of a gel to define my curl pattern. And truth be told, I believe I’m right on the mark with that one.

But there’s definitely something to be said for applying a really good gel to hair that is clean, healthy and moisturised. I find that it takes your curl pattern to the next level, specifically so with this Curl Boosting Jelly. It comes in the form of a thick bluish-purple gel and contains the moisturising properties of aloe vera and honey. I make sure that I apply it to soaking wet hair so as to ensure I trap as much moisture as I possibly can and eliminating as much chance for frizz as I possibly can. This method works exceptionally well and whenever I do this with this gel I get bomb.com results without any crunchiness. My curls last for days on end as the gel has a medium hold and I don’t necessarily have to refresh my hair with more product on day two or three.

I haven’t used it to tame my edges but I think this gel would be great for that as well as for slicked back styles.
