Alright everyone! We’ve all seen the online frenzy for the #ClickCurls event happening at Spier Wine Estate in Stellenbosch on Saturday 16 September (eek it’s so close). I was able to attend the Johannesburg event earlier this year and if that was anything to go by then I’m sure I don’t have to reiterate this is one of the few natural hair events you don’t want to miss out on.
Sadly I won’t be able to just jump on a plane back to South Africa as my due date is 19 September and I’m just way too pregnant to be allowed anywhere near a plane (nevermind making the 12 hour flight) but, Clicks is being super generous by gifting one of my supporters with a set of double tickets to attend the event. And I figured that if I can’t be there in person, at least one my beautiful curlfriends can represent on my behalf, which has me over the moon!
But before we get to that, let me fill you in on little bit more of what you can expect at the event.

I would love to go ! I usually use only afrobotanics, however , I have recently started thinning due to stress. so I went to clicks and got ahold of Pro-V split-end mender with additional supplements. I never do styles, however , i would love to do a high pony with a head band . #Clickscurls
At the moment I am working my way through the Aunt Jackies which is a fab product for both me and my daughter. I am also using the Marc Anthony’s curl cream which by the way is amazing on my hair. My curls really pops! I am not to sure how I will be styling my hair, it normally goes with the mood and the outfit that I have on, but knowing me it will definitely be something funky!!

My favourite products are definitely the Cantu leave-in conditioning repair cream, design essentials edge tamer and of course my OG curl la la from aunt jackies! Firstly i would love to go as i believe i have loads to learn apart from all the knowlegde i have picked up from CT Naturally group. I have always used Aunt Jackie product until winter came along & I needed to up my game & Design Essentials done the trick! Their Naturals Range is amazing more so their Twist & set lotion. It is very light weight but my curls are so defined & boucy & wait for it…..i can actually wear big chunky twists outs Yay! I would wear my big chunky twists out on the day with a funky bright outfit.
This would mean i would have great definition

I have been a NATURAL for exactly 2 months today! Been following your regimes etc, and I’ve become very confident rocking my TWA. I have a few products that I use namely: Design Essentials; The Curl Company; ORS Curls Unleashed; Nature’s Nourishment, Aunt Jackie’s And Elvive.
I would love to attend this function to meet the Cape Town Naturally Support Group founders as they have restored my confidence in wearing my hair NATURALLY!! I’ll be rocking my curls with a piece of paisley cloth discarded by my son, which I’ve turned into a lovely head band!

My favourite #Clickscurls product is the Palmer’s protein deep conditioner. My hair is high porosity naturally, but I it is dyed on top of that so it loves protein. Also loveing the Twisted Sista leave-in. The long lasting moisture is making my dry hair super happy.
If I got these tickets I would totally just fro it out. I usually wear my hair in a puff, a twist out or a shrunken fro, just so I can be a bit more conservative, but I’m looking for an excuse to show off my lion’s mane.
My Faaave product from Clicks has to be aunt Jackies as it is infused with Coconut oil leaving my hair feeling nourished and smelling amazing.
My go-to curly girl style is the pineapple aka “Fine-apple” I can style it in so many ways and it completes my outifit to the T!

I absolutely love aunty Jackies products. It makes my hair so soft and manageable and I can feel how strong my hair has become since I’ve started using those products. I’d wear my hair in a #frohawk. It’s such an edgy style yet sophisticated and just makes me stand out in a crowd. I would really love love love to win these tickets.
I recently discovered Loreal curl enhancement leave in balm. The slip is amazing and my curls are looking alive since winter has been wreaking havoc on my thirsty curls. If I win theae tickets i will either fro it out or bantu knot with accessories. How I wear my hair that day will definitely depend on my mood and outfit.

Hi Eleanor. Usually my favorite #clickscurls products would be Aunt Jackie but lately I find I use the Elvive curl enhancement leave in balm for my twist outs. I suspect I’ll be returning to Aunt Jackie for my usual wash and go’s as the days are growing warmer. I am a newbie BC two months ago, and currently rocking my TWA. I was fortunate enough to be part of the Marley Grey hair trial so I don’t know a lot of products. Prior to that I have only used Auntie Jackie’s which I loved. I think for a newbie this event would be like entering Heaven! Hence I really need to go.

3 months in post big chop I’m rocking an adolescent TWA…. fast growing into an adult sized mane. I use Cantu’s cleansing shampoo, curling cream and edge tamer gel. Also Auntie Jackie’s remains an affordable option. I use the Knot on My Watch detangler, Oh So Clean shampoo, leave in conditioner and Curl La La curling custard. And then I borrow organic coconut oil from my kitchen cupboard…. Thanks Crede!
I am really enjoying the freedom of the wash and go so I think I’ll be rocking my fro to the max accessorising with whatever floats my boat and inspires me on the day!

So I’ve been natural since December 2016, quite late to the naturalista movement but I am loving and embracing every step of my journey! Even the days where my hair won’t do what I want it to! I’m slowly learning what my hair loves. And if I were blessed enough to attend this event. I would style as I do every week.

As for my favourite products, I literally have Perfect Hair, Aunty Jackies and My Natural Hair in my cabinet right now!
As I enter this competition, My Natural Hair is the product of choice. It feels fantastic, smells great and styles simply beautifully in less than 15min.
My style for this event will be inspired by Queen Latifahs look in her recent movie, Girls Trip. The side swept POPPING curls and the other side flat, but in my case I have the shaven side and undercut. An overflow of beautiful curls, with a touch of cool is perfect for a day filled with surprises

My favorite product is the The Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing smoothie1 It makes my curls clump together so well and gives them lots of definition. I would wear my natural by enhancing my curls using finger coils. I recently decided to transition my hair to natural and I feel finger coiling gives me the definition I need especially for my damaged ends. I would love to attend this event given that I’m new to being natural and I am so excited to learn about how to take care of my natural hair and keep it healthy. It would be the best day ever to have access to all the information I need to make my journey a pleasant one xx. .

Afrobotanics Hair Jelly and i would wear a bun. Brings out my face and make me feel super cute and put together. I am also proud of how I actually persevered to grow my hair the right way. We are still learning!
I’ve recently discovered a gem Curls Unleashed – Aloe Vera and honey jelly that doesn’t dry out my hair that much. My hair is soft and my curls are defined. I will opt for an updo (old school) with the curls flaring in the front. I am still going through all the motions currently trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t its souls draining but i committed to this quest and i am seeing this through. I would love to join the #clickscurly day as i know with all the experts at hand they will be able to give me the best hair care and tips on how to care for my 4b/4c hair.

Its been 8months since i embarked on this fullfilling journey and everyday I learn something new. These events are definitely so inspiring and since attending my first ct_naturally event (curls and cocktails) I vowed to keep on surrounding myself with bold women who embrace their individuality and empower one another.
My favourite product at the moment is from the cantu range. My hair has been loving the coconut curling cream, for the perfect cocktail I usually mix the twist & lock gel with the curling cream and the results is just amazing.. I’m still a transitioning curly girl so for this event I’ll do a Bantu knot set using the cocktail from the cantu range. Bantu knots have been my to go and literally gives me just amazing results everytime..

I absolutely LOVE my hair ❤ but My hair loves Cantu, especially the leave in conditioner more than it does me. When I use it, my curls pops without special styling . How will I style my hair? Simple, I will apply Cantu Leave in conditioner which does the 50% of the job for me the other 50% would be flipping my hair and showing up. I have been looking forward to this event for so long and missed out on purchasing a ticket seeing that it was sold out in no time (good for #ClicksCurls right). My hair absorbs it better than most products I’ve tried AND they keep my curls super popping. It helps me balance big hair and defined curls. It’s my HOLY GRAIL! I’m definitely rocking my fro this Saturday and making it as huge as I can. My afro definitely adds to my confidence! I’ve been on a hunt, trying to find tickets with zero luck. My favourite #clickscurla product is time and again Aunt Jackie’s curl la la. It defines and holds my curls for days without leaving annoying frizxy ends. Now if I were to win these tickets I would def be rocking a twist out with a nice boho doek and some gold hoops from Claire’s I got at clicks a few months ago.

My favourite #ClicksCurls products are from the Afrobotanics range, specifically the Enhanced Moisture Aloe Shea Hair Juice. I use it every day because it moisturises and softens my hair so wonderfully. If I win these tickets I’ll be wearing my hair in braids that I did myself because I wanted to try out learning to do my own protective styles. However my bestie, who will be dragged with me, will definitely wear their hair in an awesome fro.
I love cantu moisturizing curl activation cream. I currently have a twist and I used the curl activating cream. I would take out the twist out for the event.
As a student the struggle is so real when it comes to staying within that student budget. I have found that Aunty Jackie’s curl la la custard gives me that popping curls without a popping price! If I were to go to the Clicks Curl event I would let the mane let loose and roam around freely. The mane hasn’t been let loose in a while so please be their Madiba and free them 🙂
