I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, but I have a particular fondness for midi-dresses all year round. During the Winter I wear them layered with shirts and polonecks but come Summertime I really take advantage of them and wear them with as few other items as possible! So when I walked into Zara a couple of weeks ago (my first trip to the store after the easing of lockdown) I simply couldn’t resist some of their gorgeous pastel-coloured, strappy midi-dresses and had to treat myself to a few of them.
For the most part I really enjoy wearing classic items, however I’ve always had a weakness for dresses, even if they were of the trendier variety. This began ever since I started purchasing them with money I earned from my part-time jobs during high-school. Twenty years later not much has changed and I still really enjoy them. They are definitely a Summer staple which I believe all women should have in their wardrobe, if only for their ease of wearing and styling, and these three recent purchases just couldn’t be any more perfect for Summer. So if you are in the market for something that’s more of a trend item, then look no further as Zara will have your back. The beauty of many of their items is that if you look after them you’ll be able to wear them for much longer than just one season.
And to be honest, they really have so many good dresses right now!
Here are the 3 midi-dresses that I picked up recently:

GREEN AND ECRU SATIN FLORAL PRINT DRESS
Here’s another satin midi-dress that I know I’ll be wearing long after this Summer has gone. It has a straight neckline and thin straps with adjustable ties at the back. I adore green and again, I simply love the floral print paired with ecru.
Where would I wear this dress to: think brunch, followed by a spot of shopping and then afternoon/early evening drinks with the girls. Is this dress date-night appropriate? Definitely! I’ve paired both dresses with mules as that’s more suited to my personal style, but you could definitely wear them with trainers for a more casual look or flat sandals for an easy, fuss-free ensemble. If you wear them, I recommend wearing a strapless bra with this dress.

FLORAL PRINT KNIT DRESS
I would say this beauty of a dress is the most casual out of the 3. Again, a floral print on a base of ecru – love! However this one is made from a knit fabric and has a round neck with thin adjustable straps. Of course you can easily where this dress to the same occasions I mentioned above, but I do see this one as a bit more of an easy sun-dress to be worn in a less dressy situation. I wore it with flat leather sandals here, and I think you can easily wear it with trainers or even ballets flats, and if the evening got a bit cooler I’d drape a cropped denim jacket over my shoulders.
You can definitely wear a strapless bra with this dress and you’d be fine as it won’t show anywhere.
The code for this dress is: 4331/040.
